Are we so irresponsible…?

My friend narrated one incident and that incident stirred my feelings. On Thursday evening, my friend (female) and three (male) colleagues were coming in cab from STC. The cab driver is expert in controlling the car. Near airport, in crowded place cab driver was on full speed, the bus in front of the cab was showing left indicator but driver was in his mood. And suddenly, he changed his side but hardly bothered about back side traffic. A person who was driving scooter right side did not know what is all happening. And that scooter hit the car in such a way that scooter driver fall down on that heavy traffic road.
Cab driver did not stop due to the fear of police and job. After some time Cab driver said ‘Sahab vo abhi tak mar gaya honga’.( Sir, he would have died.) Nobody could dare to say anything because it was horrible accident.
That night she was telling me all the details. I just asked her’ Did you call 108 for help?’
She nodded and said ‘No’. I was restless.
Next day I asked her ‘Did you complain to Corporate Service desk about the driver?’ She gave me all reasons. Which I did not bothered. I wanted to know the cab service request number but those fellows did not give us the information. I was surprised by their behavior. Nobody took any action about the incident.
Cab driver made a mistake and somebody else paid for it. If tomorrow he will the same mistake, may be you have to pay for that.
Are we so dumb, cant we do anything about the situation. Aren’t they human being to face the situation?

ICICI lost one customer…

28th February 08, I applied for a personal loan to ICICI bank. I am holding an account with ICICI since three years. For them I was ready customer for loan without any efforts. One marketing executive (Varun) collected all the required documents from me. And he gave me assurance that I will receive loan amount in 8 days. I called after 10 days, he assured me that I will get loan amount within 2 days. After 2 days I called up he did not answer my phone call. Next day again I called up he answered my phone call saying that he was busy with some training, and he said I will get loan amount tomorrow in the evening. Again I did follow ups and somebody else answered to my phone and said he met with an accident so did not come to office.

I was upset because it was almost 25 days. I did not get any confirmation from the bank.
Very next day I visited ICICI bank. I complained to Bank Manager but he said I do not handle loan issues, go and talk to Omkar. It was the height for my frustration but I made myself relaxed. And I talked to Omkar he said ‘Mam your loan has been cancelled due to verification reason.’ I wanted to blast at them but nobody wanted to listen to me. At least they would have informed me about the status, might I would have done some other arrangements.

Then I applied to HSBC bank. And within 3 days I received SMS saying that bank has approved my loan amount.

I felt bad because I am holding account over there and I got loan from some other bank.
Though the bank is good but one experience changed my perceptions of ICICI bank. I felt very bad for ICICI bank. Though the business is very strong but we need smart people to handle it.

And for my surprise when I went to get some document signed from ICICI bank, Varun was there and he did not recognize me.

Whose mistake it is and who is suffering from it…

Now days the weather of Hyderabad is awesome. So I decide to go to Necklace Road.
I was seating on a bench and enjoying the scenery. Two people were coming towards me, before I could realized they started asking money. When I looked at them they were human being, male but in female’s dress. I was looking at him he was looking wonderful. He was like us only. I smiled and asked ‘Why do you ask money? You have hands and feet then why do not you earn your bread and butter?’ his straight answer to me ‘Didi (Sister) society did not accept people like us therefore we have to ask money in this way.’ And he asked money one more time to me. With a smile on my face I said ‘I do not have money.’
He smile back and said ‘Didi the way you smile and said, we just want to see smile on faces.’ (Hindi – Didi koi baat nahi hum to insaniyat ke muskurahat ke diwaane hain, shukriya!) And they left me in thousands of thoughts.
I do not know I have seen people doing social work for street children, for beggars, for women, for handicap people, for farmer, for mentally challenged and what not…
But I never heard something doing for such people. I never had seen any body helping them.
I have seen people being afraid of them. I have seen the faces the ordinary people make when they appear in public.
I just wonder whose mistake it is and who is suffering from it…
